Free Yoga and Nutrition Class

The Upward Bound House offers low-cost and no-cost wellness tools and food from its urban farm to clients of UBH. The Santa Monica-based farm will be offering wellness classes and workshops to the public and will launch with a yoga and nutrition class offered by Rana Kirkland from the national nonprofit One for Health, which offers free wellness programs like yoga and nutrition at no cost to kids from low-income families. Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. and 626 Night Market are bringing the iconic Southern California open-air food festival to the city on a smaller scale through October 2022. Book Launch Party

Local poet Kate Burns is encouraging women survivors of sexual assault and rape to heal through their pain in her debut collection of poetry, “all my favorite men are dead.” While the book’s official release date is Oct. 1, interested readers can purchase a copy in person at the Village Well in Culver City at the book’s launch party. Drinks are free and everyone who purchases a book will automatically be entered into a giveaway. The event will include spoken word performances by the author and several other local female poets, as well as an open mic that is open to all attendees.
